Minecraft Gift Guide: Toys, LEGO and Costumes by Age

Updated October 31, 2026

For most Minecraft fans, the right gift follows their age. Children aged about 5 to 7 enjoy small figure sets, plush toys and dress-up. From 7 or 8, LEGO Minecraft sets and the UNO Minecraft card game become a good fit, since both carry age marks in that range. Older kids and teens often like things for their room, such as a Redstone Torch lamp, or a costume for Halloween and parties. This guide groups the official Minecraft products on our pages by age and explains what comes in the box, so you can choose quickly.

Everything here is an officially licensed Minecraft product. The makers include LEGO, Mattel, Jazwares, Disguise, Ukonic, Paladone and Accutime. If a listing says only “pixel” or “block game” and names no Minecraft licence, it is not an official product.

Quick guide by age

Age Good choices Where to find them
5 to 7 Figure packs, purring cat plush, costumes, sword and pickaxe Toys and games, costumes
7 to 10 UNO Minecraft, LEGO 8+ sets, enchanted bow, smartwatch Toys and games
10 and up Lamps for the bedroom, deluxe costumes, inflatable costumes Both pages
Teens and adults Redstone Torch lamp, Block Building lamp, UNO for a group Toys and games

Age marks come from the makers or retailers and are minimums, not targets. A 12-year-old who loves building may still enjoy an 8+ LEGO set.

LEGO Minecraft

LEGO Minecraft is the theme most fans know. LEGO.com currently lists Minecraft sets marked from 5+ up to 10+, so there are options from the first school years onwards. Our toys and games page has two sets from the Nether, both marked 8+:

  • The Warped Forest (21168) has 287 pieces. It comes with the Huntress and two Piglins, plus a hoglin with a movable head.
  • The Ruined Portal (21172) has 316 pieces. It comes with Steve and a Wither Skeleton, along with a baby sheep and a baby hoglin.

The two sets suit a child who already plays in the Nether. The Ruined Portal includes Steve, the game’s default character, which makes it the easier pick for a first LEGO Minecraft set.

Figures, games and role-play toys

Figure packs. The Farm Life Adventure Pack has five 3.25-inch figures (Alex, a horse, a cow, a pig and a chicken), five accessories and five papercraft farmland pieces, 15 pieces in all. The listing is for ages 6 and up. The Survival Pack from Jazwares is in figure scale too: an articulated Steve with a workbench, a wood pickaxe, a wood sword, a bed and a chest, for ages 6 and up. Both are small play sets for a desk or shelf, not full-size role-play items.

UNO Minecraft. This is Mattel’s Minecraft version of UNO. Mattel lists it for 2 to 10 players aged 7 and up, with 112 cards. The rules are the same as classic UNO, with one addition: the Creeper card. When a player draws it, they show it to the others, and every other player has to draw three cards. It is a good gift for a family or a group of friends, since anyone who knows UNO can join in.

Weapons for role-play. The Minecraft Sword and Pickaxe are pixelated plastic replicas. The sword is listed at 20.25 inches long and 10 inches wide. Disguise listed a sword and a pickaxe among the accessories in its first licensed Minecraft range in 2017. The Enchanted Bow with a potion-tip arrow is made by Mattel and copies the bow from the game. These are useful additions to a costume (see below).

Smartwatch. The Minecraft kids’ smartwatch by Accutime has a camera for selfies and video, games, a step counter, a voice recorder, a calculator, an alarm and a stopwatch. It charges by micro-USB. It is a watch for a child old enough to look after a gadget, and you should check that the features match what the parent wants.

Plush. Mattel’s purring cat is a 12-inch plush that wraps around the neck like a pillow and purrs when you press its paw. It is a soft gift for younger fans and those who like the game’s cats.

Lamps for a bedroom

Two lamps on our toys page make good gifts for older kids, teens and adults who want a piece of the game in their room.

  • Redstone Torch lamp (Ukonic). A 12.6-inch LED lamp shaped like the Redstone Torch, with a built-in rechargeable battery. Target’s listing says it charges by USB (cable not included), and that a 3.5-hour charge gives more than 8 hours of light.
  • Block Building lamp (Paladone). Sixteen separate light-up blocks, each 1.5 inches square, sit on a bedrock base and can be rearranged in any combination. It runs from a wall adapter, which is included, so it does not need batteries.

Costumes

Disguise launched the first officially licensed Minecraft Halloween costumes in 2017, starting with Steve, Alex, the Creeper and diamond armor in child sizes. Our Minecraft costumes page collects ten costumes and masks for children.

Classic and deluxe outfits. The Steve and Alex costumes come with a dimensional tunic, and the deluxe versions add more pieces. They work well for younger children because there is no fan or battery pack.

Mobs. The Skeleton costume has a jumpsuit with a pixelated print, a detachable chest piece and a half mask. The Zombie Pigman costume has a jumpsuit and a square headpiece.

Inflatables. The Creeper, Enderman and ride-on Pig costumes are inflatable. The Creeper and Enderman kids’ costumes use a fan powered by four AA batteries, which are not included. The Enderman’s battery pack opens with a Phillips screwdriver, so have one ready. Retailers give size ranges for each: the Creeper child costume fits a chest of 25 to 29 inches and a height of 43 to 53.5 inches. Check the size chart before you order.

Masks. For a quick costume, the Creeper half mask or the Alex cardboard head can go with the child’s own clothes.

Buying tips

  • Check the age mark. LEGO and Mattel print a minimum age on each box. Use it as a guide to the difficulty and small parts.
  • Buy batteries in advance. The inflatable costumes need four AA batteries each, and they are not in the box.
  • Look for the licence. Official products name Minecraft and a known maker. Generic “block” toys do not.
  • Think about where it goes. Lamps and LEGO models need a shelf or desk; figures and plush do not.

A Minecraft year ahead

A Minecraft Movie came out in cinemas on April 4, 2025. According to Variety, the sequel is set for July 23, 2027. New toys usually follow film releases, but makers announce them closer to the date, so this guide sticks to products already on our pages.
