Pokémon Plush Toys

Which Pokémon plush should you pick?

The plush on this page is made by Jazwares, the toy company that holds Pokémon master toy rights in the US. Jazwares also owns Wicked Cool Toys, which it bought in 2019, and Kellytoy, the maker of Squishmallows. That is why you will see three names on the tags but one licence behind them. Size is the biggest difference between the items, so it is the easiest place to start.

The 8-inch range

The 8-inch size is the standard Jazwares plush and covers the most Pokémon. On this page you will find Pikachu, Eevee, Charmander and Squirtle. Retail listings describe them as super soft and say their details follow the Pokémon animated series, so they look like the characters children know from the show. Charmander and Squirtle are two of the three original Kanto starter Pokémon, which makes them a natural pair for a fan who plays the games.

The Pikachu Select Velvet plush is also 8 inches but uses a different fabric. Select is the Jazwares line for plush with special materials, and this one is woven in velvet and marked with a black and silver tag. It suits an older fan or collector more than the everyday 8-inch Pikachu.

Large plush

The Pikachu Sleeping Plush is 18 inches and shows Pikachu curled up asleep. It is designed as a soft, huggable size rather than a shelf piece. The Pikachu Giant Plush goes further at 24 inches. Its listing names Wicked Cool Toys, a Jazwares company, as the maker and gives an age grade of 2+.

The Squishmallows Snorlax is part of the Squishmallows x Pokémon collection that Jazwares announced in 2022 with The Pokémon Company International. It has the round, squashy shape of a Squishmallow rather than the character-accurate shape of the standard plush, and it is 14 inches.

Buying tips

• Look for Jazwares, Wicked Cool Toys or Squishmallows on the listing and the tag. Unbranded “Pokemon-style” plush is not licensed.
• The same Pokémon often comes in several sizes. Check the inch size in the title before you order.
• Care instructions vary by line. Jazwares lists hand wash and air dry for its Pokémon Squishmallows.
• Collecting the toys as well as the plush? See Minecraft toys and games for another gaming franchise kids love, or the Minecraft gift guide for more ideas sorted by age. All Pokémon pages are under Pokémon merchandise.
